NY State Senator. Chair of Committee on Labor

From the start Tiffany has demonstrated not only a wide understanding of what has been missing from the Queens DA’s office for a long time, but also the lived experiences of real people from Queens. She shows me we can achieve the bold, transformational change that we deserve.

Being a public defender, she has actually spoken to residents of Queens, and New Yorkers who are undergoing their own experience in the criminal justice system and she’s seen that from very close hand. I have been thoroughly impressed by how she interacts — she’s a very good listener that that’s a key quality for any elected official, especially a district attorney.

  • Sen. Julia Salazar

NY State Senator. Chair of Committee on Women's Health

I am proud to endorse Tiffany Cabán for District Attorney of Queens County, because I know that as a public defender, she understands better than anyone the ways in which mass incarceration and the judicial system criminalizes the least powerful people in our society, especially communities of color. We need to create restorative justice that will acknowledge the history of Jim Crow in New York State, and I trust Tiffany to have the perspective and understanding necessary to create justice in a space where injustice has ruled.

  • Hon. Jimmy Van Bramer

NYC Council Member. Deputy Leader. Chair of the Cultural Affairs & Libraries Committee

If we are serious about achieving social and economic justice we’ve got to be serious about criminal justice reform. Changing the system—not just tinkering with it—has to be the goal.

I believe that Tiffany Cabán has the relevant experience to transform the way we look at systemic inequality in the law. She knows first hand that building people up, rather than tearing them apart, ultimately makes us all safer.

  • Sen. Luis Sepúlveda

NY State Senator. Chairman of the Crime Victims, Crime and Correction Committee

Tiffany Cabán has brought the sensible, evidence-based policy proposals Queens needs to truly end mass incarceration, and I am proud to endorse her. Her public defender approach to public safety through community stability is the most comprehensive and effective way to achieve the reforms necessary to fix our broken justice system. I am eager to work with her to accomplish these critical policy goals.

  • Sen. Gustavo Rivera

NY State Senator. Chairman of Committee on Health

Tiffany’s experience as a public defender and her deep roots in Queens give her a unique perspective on the practices currently in place that we need to change to put an end to the senseless criminalization of vulnerable communities. I am proud to support Tiffany Cabán as she runs to become the next Queens District Attorney and look forward to working with her as she enacts true change in our criminal justice system from the ground up.

  • Hon. Brad Lander

NYC Council Member. Deputy Leader for Policy. Co-founder of the Council's Progressive Caucus.

I'm pleased to endorse Tiffany Caban for Queens DA. Her background as a public defender, her vision of a criminal justice system that doesn't marginalize people-of-color & the poor, and her commitment to equal justice under law make her the progressive DA that Queens needs.

Tiffany is willing to grapple with the hard truths of our carceral state, and is offering a bold and transformative approach that focuses on getting marginalized communities the supports they need, rather than targeting and imprisoning them.
